03 februari 2019 – Als je betaalde baan (ongewild) stopt, wat dan ? Die vraag moest ik, een tijd geleden alweer, voor mezelf ook beantwoorden. Ik kreeg van iemand de tip om eens te kijken naar initiatieven die mensen die in dezelfde situatie terecht waren gekomen, met elkaar te verbinden. Netwerkgroep45plus in Nijmegen kwam daarna snel in beeld; van, voor en door 45-plussers. Een vereniging waar mensen van verschillend pluimage zich bij aansluiten. Maar zij delen hetzelfde doel; zich inzetten voor het vinden van betaald werk. Betaald werk voor jezelf maar ook voor anderen.

En je kunt elkaar daar op veel verschillende manieren mee helpen.  Met elkaar praten; over de moeilijkheden die je tegenkomt in je zoektocht, tips delen met elkaar over hoe je dingen beter, anders kan aanpakken maar zeker ook over ditjes en datjes. Samen activiteiten voorbereiden en doen; bedrijven bezoeken om de kansen voor 45-plussers te onderzoeken, samen gesprekken oefenen, deelnemen aan een commissie, met een groep(je) een wandeling maken, bestuurslid worden, een presentatie geven of een training. En aangeboden trainingen volgen; recent nog LinkedIn en het Belmeisje. Niet dat ik dat allemaal gedaan heb maar wel een aantal. 

En het heeft me veel gebracht! Je doet interessante, leuke, bijzondere maar in ieder geval nieuwe contacten op (‘collega’s’). Die je regelmatig ziet en waarmee je van gedachten wisselt. Dat levert weer nieuwe inzichten en ideeën op. Op de bijeenkomsten en trainingen krijg je tips of iets om te overdenken maar je leert ook nieuwe vaardigheden (of poetst oude op). 

Inmiddels heb ik een baan en ik ben er van overtuigd dat de punten die ik hierboven noemde positief hebben bijgedragen aan het vinden van die baan. Mede daarom ben ik blij dat ik me destijds heb aangemeld bij Netwerkgroep45plus en dat ik me nu als ambassadeur kan inzetten
